What's new

AndroidSync 1.1.2. Smoother screen mirroring.

Mirror Stream recovers from interrupted video frames and keeps idle screen-sharing connections alive. Update both apps to get the improvements.

Mirror Stream recovery

Fixed a cause of screen mirroring freezes after network congestion. Android preserves H.264 frame dependencies and sends a fresh keyframe when needed. The Mac decoder recovers after missing frames or decoder errors, while keepalives help prevent idle screen-sharing sessions from disconnecting.

Install version 1.1.2 on both your Android phone and Mac for the complete fix.

Signed downloads

The Mac app and DMG are Developer ID signed, accepted by Apple’s notarization service and include validated tickets. The Full Android APK uses the permanent AndroidSync release key. Regression tests cover video queue congestion and stream recovery. The README includes signing and source-build instructions.

Build your own APK or Mac app for additional control. Older debug-signed Android installations need a fresh installation; save important data first.

File transfer improvements introduced in 1.1

Encrypted by default

File bytes stream directly over authenticated TLS. The binary path removes Base64 expansion and the wait for a reply after each small chunk.

Pick up from saved progress

Bounded buffers and durable checkpoints about every 8 MiB keep transfers manageable. Resume from the saved offset after an interruption.

Check before opening

Received files become available only after their SHA-256 hash matches the offered file.

An optional local mode

Unencrypted TCP transfers use per-batch authorization tokens sent over TLS. File bytes are visible to anyone observing the network. Leave this option off for private transfers.

Settings that stay in step

Your transfer-mode choice syncs across paired devices and survives restarts. Turning off unencrypted mode cancels active unencrypted batches; restart them to use TLS.

Less interface overhead

Progress updates are throttled to reduce interface work. Older paired versions can still use the original transfer path.

Screen-sharing performance depends on your devices and network. Recovery improvements do not establish broad device compatibility. Unencrypted mode is not guaranteed to be faster.
